About Our Park

Back in the late 1800’s Glen Cromie Caravan Park was a private oasis, owned by a local Warragul business owner named Joseph Cromie.  Joseph used to use the land to hold picnics and outings for family and his employees.  Later the park became a picnic park for the locals.  Since then it has evolved into a the beautiful caravan park it is today without losing its original charm and character. The park is still open to both holiday makers and day visitors today, over 120 years later.

Glen Cromie Caravan Park is ideally located around 100 km’s from Melbourne and easily accessed from the Monash Freeway it is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Set on 35 acres in a secluded valley with the Tarago River running gently through the park you can just sit and listen to the peaceful sounds of nature. Set in a valley the park is surrounded by majestic, towering gum trees and stunning tree ferns. The park also has its own bushland walking trails with stunning scenery with an abundance of bird and wildlife.

On offer are a number of options for your stay, including tastefully renovated ensuite cabin accommodation (one of which is dog friendly – strict conditions apply), our large onsite caravan and flat grassed riverside and standard powered and unpowered sites. We offer standard park facilities including a fully equipped laundry, baby bathroom and a number of amenities blocks for your convenience. We also offer a well stocked kiosk to cover you immediate needs.

Glen Cromie is also well known as a Day Park due to its idyllic location. A day visitor fee is applicable to all visitors. We also have 5 large Shelters available for hire, perfect for that family picnic, school, work or social group gathering. There are also a number of electric BBQ’s placed around the park.

Glen Cromie Caravan Park also has your recreation needs covered. The park has playgrounds for our younger visitors and the river provides a great source of fun for all ages and has a lovely ‘swimming hole’ area which is shallow and allows for safe play. The grounds boast large open areas perfect for playing a game of footy or cricket etc. We also have approximately 2k’s of well made walking tracks within the park. These include a walk over the suspension bridge then walking along the banks of the Tarago River. The other walk is a more hilly and scenic walk through the valley, with interpretive signs, and bench seats and picnic tables scattered along the tracks. The scenery is amazing, take the time to admire the tree ferns, gums and wildlife, including Wallabies, Wombats and abundant bird life, or rest a while at the Ampitheatre (Music Bowl) and take in the beautiful view down the valley.

Being centrally located to both towns of Warragul and Drouin (less than 10 minutes away), you can easily access all town facilities, including the local cinema, 10 pin bowling centre and shopping centres. Glen Cromie Caravan Park is also your gateway to the many tourist attractions the region has to offer all within easy reach of the Park.
